bluetooth problem

I just got back my 24inch iMac and am setting it up with a new hard drive installed. The magic mouse worked no problem, but it doesnt seem to see the keyboard (current apple bluetooth keyboard) This is 10.6 no updates installed yet, they are downloading. The keyboard is on and there is power as I see the green light flash when I push the power button. Anyone else ever have this? Any ideas on how to get the iMac to see the keyboard? Was there any bluetooth issues resolved with any of the updates?

thanks

Remove the batteries from the keyboard, wait a moment, then reinstall and power on the keyboard. Then run the BT Setup Assistant ("Setup New Device") and attempt to pair.

This problem is especially common if the keyboard was previously paired to another Mac and was not unpaired from the original Mac prior to attempting to pair it with a new computer.

I will give that a try. This is a brand new keyboard and mouse that came with 27 inch iMac. I have keyboard and mouse that I like at home, so these are getting used with the 24inch iMac.

Taking the batteries out and putting them back in again worked, thanks!
