I mucked up my IPhoto's...

There was a thread a few weeks ago about not messing around with the IPhoto collection, otherwise...
Well, that thread came a couple of days too late alas. I needed to make some room on my MB's hard drive for some reason and deleted my photos, hundreds of them, since I had them backed up on dvd's and my Time Capsule. Then I realized my photo collection was organized in slide shows and albums. Not to worry I thought, the TC is there. I restored everything but somehow the slide shows and albums don't have any photos in them. Am I going to have to re-create al my albums manually again....?

Ideally you would have cloned before starting on an ambitious pruning. Then in the event of a failure you could simply replace the photos folder with the one from the clone.

Alternatively simply copy the entire photos folder before starting that way can always copy back.

I would take a similar precaution if I was cleaning up iTunes.

After proper back-up do all the clean-up with in iPhoto. This app goes bonkers if you try to just remove unwanted images. Also helps to be aware if originals are stored outside of the iPhoto library as that folder needs to be backed up as well.

That was more for any one else contemplating messing with iPhoto. I do hope someone who uses TM can chime in and let the OP know how to get back to ground zero.
