If you mean the weather widget that comes with the Mac, dump it - it is notoriously inaccurate in Canada. Get the WeatherEye widget from the weathernetwork.com. Much better coverage and lists many small, obscure Canadian centres.

HOWEVER: occassionally I have in the past provided links to instructions or illustrations. I will not do so in future, in fact I will not be offering helpful advice for free just to have my words pirated until the sleazy ad linking desists. I will, however, answer PMs.
I agree - the weathernetwork is far superior, esp. if you reside in Canada
i've actually found it accurate for the Vancouver area
after a few tries, it reverts to my region...not sure why it begins with Cupertino but i'll give the one you recommended a try, thanks for the tips
It's a great widget. When there is a weather watch or warning, it shows up on the widget. Click on the watch or warning, you will get to the Weather Network webpage that shows the details.
It pulls its data from Environment Canada and it covers a lot of small communities.
On the same page, the ENVIRONMENT CANADA SATELLITE, RADAR AND FORECAST MODEL IMAGES is very useful.

The same place has a great iPhone weather app also.
