Mac Mini 2009/LCD TV question

Hi everyone, first post here though Ive been a Mac user for years. I just picked up a new Mac Mini to use with my 26" LCD TV. I had been using an headless iMac G4 connected to it via the mini-VGA to the VGA connection on the TV. Yesterday i picked up a mini DVI - HDMI connector for the mini, but when watching movies, it looks really pixelated. The iMac looked fine when watching movies. After playing with the settings on the TV, screen resolution, etc. I cant get it to look as good as the iMac did, which is odd. Would the mini display port be any better? I thought that the HDMI output from the Mini would look better, but its not. No matter what I do, I cant get it to look good. Any suggestions of other ways to connect it using the HDMI, or even the VGA input on my TV?

(bump)

Anyone? Its kinda frustrating that this isnt working as good as Id hoped. I bought this Mini solely to watch HD movies on my TV, and my iMac G4 looked waaaaay better than this. Ive tried connecting it from the Mini display port to the VGA on my TV, but it didnt improve anything.

try to lower the screen resolution.

Your 26" LCD tv is likely to be only a 720p/1080i. It would not look nice if you try to display text in 1920x1080. Try to lower the screen resolution to 1280x720 or 1360x768. This is the resolution it should have been displaying with your old imac with the VGA connection.
