We have a new airport extreme (early 2009?) we just got a few licenses for daylite and the server. In order to access the server through remote (internet) I have the 3 ports the apps requires set in the AE in the port forwarding, it seems to acknowledge it in the app.
I am using dyndns to set up my dynamic ip to a hostname, everything seems to be set up, but when I check the ports with a tool, it reports a timeout or possibly the isp blocking them.
Ports are 6113 6116 6117 , we have rogers internet business edition. Would rogers be blocking these?
That would suck since this is a business internet and we tend to use apps that require access.
thanks!

It helps immensely to set the server machines ip in the port forwarding rules in the router.

Also as a help to someone in the future for testing. The new Daylite Server Admin application has the ability to turn on automatic port forwarding for those routers that support it (AE & Time Capsule devices do support it).
The only problem is that it only works if you leave the app running. It does give you the ability to check to see if there is any port blocking in another area.
On a similar topic, does anyone know if there is a way to lock a DHCP address to a specific machine? I also use a d-Link router which gives me the ability with a simple click to choose a machine that has got a DHCP address attached to it from the router, and make it a static address. I wondered if the same thing is possible with the AE.

I don't have an Airport Express (I have its bigger brother) but I think the Aiport Utility displays the same options for both. Check the "Internet" tab and then choose "DHCP". If everything is the same there should be a space for "DHCP Reservations" which can be used to block off specific IPs based on MAC address or machine name.
So far we love daylite. It'll take us a little while to fill it up, and convert to using billings, I was using iBiz for invoicing, but since expanding, I decided I needed a real crm.
atm I have the server running of my mac pro, my workstation, on dhcp with the brand new airport extreme ( not express...) We just ordered a refurb mini to act as a server, for daylite as well as a local testing server etc.
At that point I'd likely look at assigning an IP. We are using dyndns for now, it's free and works well. Rogers business charges 80 bucks/month extra for a static IP, so hell with that for now.

Only problem we're experiencing so far, we have 2 licenses entered in the server, when we log in remotely we are often getting the 'out of licenses' error. There is only 2 of us using it.
