Obscure OS 9 question

I just acquired an old emac (17"), 1Ghz, G4, ati RV200 display on which I have installed OS X 10.3.9 and 9.2.2

When I startup in OS9, the desktop only fills about 1/3 of the screen. I went into the Monitors control panel, and was only able to enlarge it slightly, and it allows only whatever resolution was set in OSX (ie- if I was at 1024 in X, it will be 1024 in 9, with no option to change it till I go back into X). On other computers I have had (and still have), OS9 fills the screen and I can set the resolution from within 9.

Anyone run into this before?

Hints? tips?

yup you have the wrong video driver, I would guess that the OS was not installed from the org disc that came with the emac. They had very odd drivers and was always a pain to deal with.

You're right - thanks - it was bought second-hand and did not come with original disks, so I installed 10.3 from my retail set. Guess I don't have the right video drivers.
