Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all the help. All went well and I am now using my computer with the new hard drive. however, although the blatant scary noise went away, this hard drive runs on average a couple degrees hotter than the other one, the fan kicking in at:

HD is 40˚C
CPU is 45˚C
GPU is hotter for some reason, sitting at 51 - 52˚C.
HD Bay: 45˚C

Anyway, this is causing the fan to run more often, about every 3 minutes or so at tmes between when not doing anything extensive (basic browsing and emailing).

While the fan turns on, I notice it's pretty loud still, a whir, more like a buzzy whir. I'm wondering I it's lightly grazing on something, but it's been so long since my computer started to progressively get noisier, I don't know what's normal anymore. I do know when I first got my computer, the fan hardly ever came on. I'm sure though it was always an airy whir. So that's my first observation.

The second is my hard drive makes a clicking sound, like when a record player gets ready to play a record, but quieter. My old hard drive, didn't make any noises, is this normal? It's only once here and there, not a whole bunch of loud clicks.

Thanks again!
