iMac 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo From 2 gb to 4gb Difference

I have the iMac 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 2 gb total RAM.

I do alot of Photoshop and use Aperture at the same time (photography business) so I thought with the RAM prices really good at Crucial why not upgrade to total 4 GB not that my system felt lagging, well sometimes it would take some time in Aperture to do something if PS is running also which I need to have at times.

Has anyone else upgraded to Max RAM 4 GB on this machine and found an quit difference?

It made a big difference for me, especially since I use VMWare a lot and can now assign a generous amount of memory to the virtual machine and still have lots left for OS X. Definitely go for it, RAM is cheap these days.

Absolutely worth it. Similar to you, I needed to run some RAM taxing apps and the upgrade made a noticeable difference. So easy to swap out the RAM on these machines as well.

I just got the RAM unfortuanately 1 chip came as a dud, they are going to replace it, so right now I'm running on 3GB of total RAM ( the new 2 GB chip and 1 original 1 GB chip)...

and all I can say is WOOOOOOW, a massive difference..my Aperture Library (all my images are RAW and TIFFS some TIFF can be upto 70 MB for one image alone) loads at maybe 3 times the speed, Photoshop renders actions at least twice as fast...and this is with only 1 extra GB.

The computer responds also twice as fast when opening new apps...man I should have done this a while ago...but then again the RAM was twice as expensive a year ago...but man this is real shocker, can't wait until I get her running on 4 GB...
