Not sure, since some of the systems use a different battery voltage. I would suggest comparing the systems, as the earlier G4's were very similar to the G3's; while the later ones are different. That is, if I am not mistaken that the DC In board would have to be different between the 10.8 V batteries and the 14 V batteries...
MacDoc probably knows - and I think he'll chime in!
Thanks, the G3 is a late model 800 MHz and the G4 is a 1.33 GHz

They look identical really , but I don't want to risk shorting out the board.
And I don't want to order one when I may possibly have the right part in my old ibook G3.
I'm opening both up right now, I'll go in for a closer look.

was too short to reach the connector on the board. anyone know where I can get an ibook G4 DC-in board locally?
Cheers,

Hi, i am in your same situation. I have a faulty DC-in ibook G4 800 board and a spare DC-in ibook G3 800. You said that the connector is too short; did u try to switch the connector cable between the 2 DC-in boards? In case u couldn't try it , did u try anyway to see if the G3 DC-in board could work on the ibook G4 connecting it without closing the external enclosure?
...did u try to switch the connector cable between the 2 DC-in boards?
Unless you're willing to risk the life of the unit, do not attempt this. If it doesn't work and fit naturally, it means it isn't meant to be. Replacement DC-in boards for all iBooks are under $30 brand-new from any AASP. Don't cheap out.
