OS 10.5.2 and PowerBook G4 = Dead DVD

As confirmed in other forums,

Apple - Support - Discussions - Just installed 10.5.2 and DVD Player ...

Be warned that os 10.5.2 Grahic Update will make the native DVD reader hang forever, untill you have to force a shutdown with te power button...

Until they release an udate (which I hope they do....), I have to use VLC player....I tried to search for the issue on ehmac, but could not find it...

Sorry if this has been posted....if not, let our Apple geniuses know !!!

I think I installed the 10.5.2 Graphic Update on a PB Alu 1.5Ghz 15" without any issue. Is it happening with your "new" Alu 12" ?

Yes...Apple's DVD player will launch and then I get....a beachball forever. Force quitting does not even work...

I researched the issue, and it does seem related to PB G4 12 inches and the Graphic udate of OS 10.5.2...

Thank God for VLC
