Slower Booting After Upgrading RAM

I recently upgraded my 2.2GHz MacBook Pro to 4GB of RAM, and find that it boots up slightly slower now. All 4GB is recognized, and it runs much faster than before, but for some reason it boots slower. Anyone else here experienced something like this, or have any idea what could cause this?

Part of that would be the RAM test during booting - more RAM = longer test. I wouldn't be concerned.

Used to be able to turn this off in OS 9 Memory control panel. Can it be done under OS X?

I'm sure it can, and equally sure it shouldn't be.
