Junk Mailbox won't show messages

Hi everybody, my mac mail pulls in junk mail and places it in the junk mail box, but then won't allow me to view it. It will say (85) messages are in that box but it is empty when I view it.
I've got two other pop accounts that do show the junk, it's just this one account doing it.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
John

OS version helps - but try rebuilding the mailbox.

Hi macdoc, sorry, I assume everybody knows my world like I do
It's Mac OS X, 10.4.11

I've done the mailbox> rebuild of the specific inbox pop account, but it doesn't seem to affect the junk box derived from it.
Still have 83 unreadable junk mails.

Hmm Mail has changed a lot in Leopard.

Do YOU need to see that junk mail??

Is your server set up to hold emails for two weeks??

I'm thinking you can create a new Junk folder but can't recall Tiger Mail enough

A new user with Mail will pull the same stuff down from the server.

It's set to hold on the server for 1 month.
I do need to see it some of the time. Periodically it junks mail that I need.
I could change the setting to have all junk mail appear in my inbox first, that would solve it, but I'd have to manually move that mail.

I'll look into how to create a new junk folder. thanks for your help.

How are you determining junk mail??

Spamsieve is superb.

In Leopard you can direct junkmail to a specified folder.

I will look into spamsieve, Mac mail is a little wonky with spam.
I've deleted the account and re-created it......it's now showing the junk mail again (I've done this quick fix before, but it's resorted back to hiding in time).
If it happens again, I'll switch spam filters and set it up manually.
Thanks for the help.
