So I deleted some messages I need to look at now. Are these still floating around somewhere? They were emptied from my deleted folder automatically after so many days. Bummer...
No, they are gone. Hotmail is an online mail service, and those messages are stored online. When you delete them, they are gone. Use a mail program such as Mail or Entourage and get a POP account to keep important messages on your computer.
Be assured your messages are backed up somewhere lest the Homeland Nazis want to take a peek.
On the other hand getting MS to recover them for you probably ain't gonna happen.
If you could get them to burrow into their back-up, rest assured the fee would be exhorbitant.

I worked for a company that was outsourced for Microsoft doing Windows XP/Vista support. We also had Outlook and Office support in our buildings. I worked as a front line tech for 7 months and as a manager in both projects for 4 years. Having said that:
1. Your email may be backed up and stored somewhere. MAYBE
2. you will never be able to reach someone who can do this for you.
Trust me..it is gone..in my 5 years I got lots of calls on it..as we did xp/vista/outlook all we coud say was try passport or msn help..but it never ended well...
