SMTP Server & Rogers

I thought it was smtp.broadband.rogers.com. I guess not. What is the SMTP server for Rogers Hi-Speed? Every combination possible that appeared when I googled for the answer results in rejection. Oh, how I hate ISP complications...

Check your outgoing port number; if I recall, rogers uses either 25 or 587??? Also, ensure you have password authentication turned on for your SMTP.

I have port 25

smtp.broadband.rogers.com

Mail seems to plunk the username in place...
eg:
smtp.broadband.rogers.com:username

Try changing to 587. This may be your problem.

No dice x 2.

"This message could not be delivered because your SMTP settings are not set. Please use the Accounts Preferences panel to set the SMTP options for your account."

When in fact they are set...

smtp.broadband.rogers.com is what Rogers tells you to use on their setup website but that doesn't work for me either. I can't remember where or how I got this , but here is what works for me:

ssmtp.bloor.is.net.cable.rogers.com

Mail.app then applies the colon - username.

Have you tried deleting the account in mail and re entering it. I had to do this once.
