System.Log entries?

This entry shows in my System.Log repeatedly,
---------------
Dec 21 09:36:35 MacBook-Pro com.apple.launchd[1] (org.postfix.master): Failed to count the number of files in "/var/spool/postfix/maildrop": No such file or directory
-----------------
Can anyone shed some light on what it means, and maybe how to correct it?

jb.

It looks like you're missing some folders from postfix (mail sending stuff). There should be a whole tree of subdirectories under that directory.

What OS?

I'm sorry for the lack of info, I should know better.
My system is Leopard 10.5.1. on a MBP.
All that I have under /var is /cups

hmm, there's something seriously wrong there if that's all you have. There should be at least 20 folders there, with a bunch more subfolders...

Have you run an update recently? You might want to grab the latest full update from the apple site and try re-running that if so. And of course try repairing permissions, etc...

Actually I just thought of something else. /var should be a symlink to /private/var .. it's quite possible that symlink got broken and the directory remade (by cups?)

Well I did an Archive&install and all appears well now.
I have no idea where those subfolders went, but they are all back in place now.
Thanks for the ideas, and pointing me in the right direction.
