So my dad has a Pismo 400 PB. Where he's living in Southern B.C. they only have dial-up. He's tried two different ISP's and had the same problems with having a hard time connecting, modem hanging up randomly, very slow load speeds (even for dial-up). His PC friedn using the same ISp has no dial-up problems whatsoever.
So in no particular order:
Is his modem on the fritz?
If so are they hard to replace on the pismo (I can't remember if I saw a seperate modem card when I was in there replaceing the hd & RAM or not)?
How about externals?
Or is it ISP related?
Thanks folks,
Snowin

Can he try dial up at his friend's house? As long as dial up works for his friend, there, that would tell him if the problem is with the Pismo or the ISP/at his own house.
