Repair time / cost estimate?

I am wondering if anyone who has experienced the same problem that I have can relate their experience with the time and cost it took to get it fixed.

I have a Macbook which is no longer under warranty. Some time ago, the built-in iSight stopped working. I never did anything about it, because I don't really use it very often, and I didn't want to give up my Macbook for any length of time (it is my only computer). Lately, I've been thinking about getting it fixed, but I don't want to spend a lot of money (it still isn't a high priority) or let my laptop go for too long.

I read this page that described how one user who was having the same problem fixed his own, and I gave it a shot, but I couldn't get one of the screws out. I figured it might be time to turn it over to the pros.

So, has anyone had their iSight repaired as non-warranty work? If so, can you provide any anecdotes as to the time and cost involved?

(Note: I've tried every other solution I can find on the Internet-- on this forum and elsewhere-- and nothing's worked, which is why I am strongly suspecting this loose connection.)

Thanks!

In the worst case scenario, I expect that you would be looking at anywhere from $50-100 for the camera board or cable, and one to two hours of labor at the going rate wherever you might be. I wouldn't suggest attempting this repair yourself.

Depending on which Macbook you have, price including labor should be around the $150.00 mark. That is based on it being about a 1 hour job. Having never done it, I'm not sure if it would require more (or less) than that. Best bet is call some dealers and ask for a quote.
