My first iPod and it's broken.. *cry*

Okay here's the deal.

I just bought this..used..my first iPod that's not a shuffle.

1. It was working perfect
2. Plugged it into a windows machine to try and save some files
3. it asked to format
4. i did (because I am an idiot)
5. Came home.. and plugged it into my mac (thinking it'll fix)
6. iTunes came on and it synced my stuff
7. Then it wouldnt disconnect, then took forever to sync.
8. Got the folder with the exclamation mark.
9. Tried to hard reset, then disk mode.
10. Now..I got the check mark sign that says OK to disconnect and Disk Mode but THATS IT!
NOTHING ELSE!

HELP!
it's frozen..and nothing else..
Powerbook won't detect it.

Help!

As you've probably figured out, a Windows formatted iPod will not work with your Mac. Try resetting your ipod by holding the clicker in the middle of the wheel and the menu button at the same time for about 5-10 seconds. Then try replugging your ipod and choose the "restore" function to restore your iPod the Mac format.

Good luck,

Windows iPods work fine on Macs. Mac iPods don't work on Windows.

I've tried resetting with the menu+middle click and it resetted but when i plug it into my laptop i get the
check mark with the OK to disconnect sign. My iTunes doesn't even open up to allow me to restore.
It's not frozen like it was anymore the apple sign comes on with the folder and what not..but nothing else seems to be working.
and no clicking..

How about if you try an older iPod updater?

http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...628formac.html

I have had luck restoring some ipods with this software that the newer iTunes could not restore.
