Safari: Ripping sites: Videos off sites

I have a few sites for a few classes and text books and what not
some of them have tutorial vids and example vids

the flash files i've been able to download using the same extension for firefox as people use to download vids from youtube.

but some of the sites have .wmv, .mov and .rm files
i can view some
some not so much, especially the .wmv

I've tried a few software that rips the whole site with no luck.

I've tried Speed Download 4.1.10
and
DeepVacuum 1.65
and
Web Dumper

with no luck

I remember there was a software I used to use on my windows machine where I would loook through the source to find the location of the video and put that in that software and it'd download the video.

anything like that for macs?
any site rip software that work?
help?

From my experience, wmv videos are totally random. Some work, some don't. It's all in the codecs they use. I've downloaded all available "Free" codecs and plugins for Quicktime, and still only about 1 out of 4 function.
I use a few different programs, my favorite is Cosmopod. It's a safari plugin that grabs flash vids, converts it to mp4 and loads it into itunes to put on an ipod. I use it almost daily.

Good luck with the wmv's, people should just not use them, maybe there are pluses to them, but I don't see anything but aggravation and frustration.
