Pismo Powerbook price.

I have a Pismo Powerbook that I'm thinking of getting rid of. What would be a "reasonable" price for this Pismo?
500 Mhz
512 ram
40 Gig HD
20 Gig Expansion Bay HD
2 Batteries that give just over 5 hours
DVD Drive + New spare DVD drive (might sell separately)
Apple Wireless card
Microsoft wireless optical mouse blue. (not bluetooth)
Original disks + Retail OS X 10.3 and iLife 4.

It's in pretty good condition, slight scratches on the back of the Pismo where it was on edge in case, can see the keyboard marks on screen if you look hard. Screen is getting dim (of course) but still good.

I'd mark it around $300 or so; possibly less if the LCD is really bad with the markings on it and the dimness of it. Try selling its accessories separately, as they barely add to the value of the original unit. You may fetch more coin for everything you got by parting it out.

LCDs can be replaced (expensively, but it's possible) by afficianados. The rest seems cherry enough.

The airport card is worth nearly $100, the extra battery is worth $70-$80, the DVD drives are $50+ each. Try to buy a 40GB hard drive (which is not the stock hard drive, and therefore likely not 5+ years old) and see what that costs.

Lars is right to say you'll get more if you part it out; and wrong to suggest $300 for the whole thing. But there could be someone out there that wants it whole, and understands what the parts cost--but you will need to discount them for selling it altogether.

If the LCD were pefect, I'd say $450 given the airport card, decent extra battery, the 500 Mhz speed (rather than 400), the software, the mouse, and so on. You'd be cheating yourself if you took $300. Part it out.

And by the way, some Pismo LCDs are brilliant still, have no key marks, no dead pixels, no scratches. I'm looking at one now.
