macbook & iogear bluetooth mouse

i know this obviously isn't an Iogear forum, but when using my Macbook with an Iogear bluetooth mouse, i have to re-setup the device after each time my Macbook goes to sleep. what a royal pain in the a**! why even bother having the convenience if you have to reset everytime??!!

what am i missing? how can i use my macbook w/ bluetooth mouse without resetting it evertime??

I would think that it's just your mouse going to sleep too. The sleep feature is part of a bluetooth standard. Make sure you press the buttons on the mouse and see if it wakes up after a short period of time. (Don't just move the mouse, physically press the left click button.) Maybe 10 seconds.

I'm assuming this is the issue, because you shouldn't have to pair it up again, once it's been paired.

I have exactly the same issue with my iogear bluetooth mouse and my MBP. Matter of fact I can only pair it by selecting "any device" and then using the default code 1234 to make it work. It won't see it as a mouse until then. But it drops the connections within 20 minutes and I have to do it all over again. It's a royal pain all right.

i've gotten it to wake up after my computer wakes up, but if i shutdown my computer, i have to re-setup the mouse all over again. what a waste of time and $80. i'm hoping for a refund and ditching this bluetooth mouse.

do the apple bluetooth mice do the same (re-setup after shutting down)? i sure hope not.

as for the setup, i too need to select 'any device' as it does not detect a 'mouse.' i also need to select 'no passkey' as the suggested '1234' doesn't work nor does the preassigned passkey.

yes, i contacted them again and now i've used the passkey '0000' and it seems to work (although i've only tried it once), so i don't have to go through the setup process again....hope it sticks
