PB G4 1.5, 10.4

In my Finder prefs I have my external drive (3 partitions) showing up on the sidebar.

I do not want the drive / partitions showing up on the desktop. But I do want CDs etc to show.

But, if I elect in the General Finder prefs to show CDs etc on the Desktop, my drives show.

This does not happen on my iMac, where the prefs work perfectly.

Any ideas why this is happening? It's not a big deal, but is the sort of thing that bugs me when it does not work properly.
