Network connection at login

Hello all,

I have this crazy problem. On one of my computers, finder just hangs right after login. I see the spotlight icon show up on the top right corner, then the spinning beach ball of death. I can leave it for minutes, nothing happens.

I've tried logging in as a different user (it works), then switching to my first user. This is when I realized that it tries to connect to a network share as soon as I log in. If I connect, all goes smoothly. Apparently the network stuff doesn't get loaded if I connect with my first user directly.

I have nothing in my startup items, no shortcut to the network share that could be loaded at startup. I've done nothing special or installed anything since my last reboot. I've accessed files on my network share like I do every day, but that's it.

Any suggestions? Anywhere poke? Anything I should look into?

Thanks

Network connection?

Hmmm....dunno....maybe the first user is corrupted?
you may have to login as administrator, delete that account, and set it up again, maybe going through Network utility?

You may want to write down the first user's settings first, though

just a thought
