Unhappy Two ATI video cards in one Sawtooth

Hi, everyone

I've got a Sawtooth that I've been using for converting LPs to CDs. I had an old Radeon Mac Edition (PCI) that I decided to install alongside the existing Rage 128 AGP. I installed the ATI software that came with the Radeon, and, before I restarted, I had two monitors running for an extended desktop. I had a 19" Apple CRT in the Rage and a 19" KDS CRT in the Radeon. After I restarted, however, the Rage is not sending a signal to the Apple CRT. The power light goes from yellow to green as it starts up, but then goes yellow again, indicating signal has been lost. The KDS connected to the Radeon works just fine. Is there any way I can get these two cards to both work? I tried uninstalling the ATI software following the instructions in the guide (hold down the option key while running the installer...the "Install" button will change to an "Uninstall" button. It doesn't change).

Does anyone have any ideas that might help?

Thanks

Steve

If you disconnect the RADEON card from a monitor, does the Rage 128 work again?

Hi, Lars

thanks for the quick response. I'd already shut down the machine last night, so I'm just getting around to messing with it again.

Took the Radeon out, the Rage doesn't work. Start up with extensions off, the Rage doesn't work. Uninstall the Radeon software, the Rage doesn't work.

Aaarrgh!

It sounds like you have a bad card to me. I know for a fact that multiple ATI cards work well in the Sawtooth, I have a Rage 128 Pro and a Radeon 7000 in mine right now, a while ago I had two Radeon 7000s and the Rage 128 Pro and they all worked without flaw.

Before you toss out that Rage though, try pulling it out then sticking it back in and look for any fried components on it too.
