I loaded my new Mac Mini and iTunes with my songs from my iPod using iPodRip. I authorized the new Mac Mini however when I try to play any tunes that were previously purchased from iTunes, I get a request to authorize the computer once again and get an error "we could not complete you iTunes request. There is not enough memory available. There was an error in the iTunes store . Please try again later". I have tried several times since, no luck.
I reauthorized my iBook today as well but I am able to play my iTunes store bought songs on the iBook.
There is a limit to the number of systems that can be authorized (5) - perahaps you have exceeded it? If so, it's simple matter to reset it, from the iTunes Store account settings.

Actually I deauthorized all of my computers yesterday, as I had sold a Mac Mini and bought a new Core Duo Mini. My old PC was deauthorized as well.
Reauthorizing my iBook was no problem and it plays my bought tunes. The new Mac MIni is also reathorized but it will not play my purchased songs from iTunes. I tried one of the free tunes of the week from the iTunes store. I get a message that there was an error downloading. That song does play on the iBook. For some reason the iTunes store does not recognize my new Mac Mini. (I had no problems with my old Mac Mini). My new Mac Mini is a refurb bought from the Applestore site.
I wonder if one of your iTunes preference files has become corrupted. You might try throwing them in the trash to see if this solves the problem. These are located in your home/library/preferences folder and all three begin with com.apple.iTunes. If that doesn't work, one other thing to try would be to make up a new user with the System Preferences/Accounts preference setting. I have heard that this solves all kinds of sticky problems like yours and if it does, it suggests that there is either a bad setting or a file conflict on your Home account.

I'm thinking that iTunes is not up to date. This is usually the issue with connection errors. Especially if it's working on your iBook.
I'd try Software Update again.. and see if there are any inactive updates.
I emailed Apple for support. They suggested deleting iTunes and a fresh install of iTunes which I did without any success so far. They also suggested authorizing the Mac Mini under both of my accounts- I have one under gmail and another under .mac-no change.
I did try to deauthorize the computer; it would not deauthorize. I also cannot do previews or purchase or play previuosly bought tunes.
I checked for software updates late last night. There were three of them, on for iChat and two Security updates.
I will try what out colleague Fox suggested and let you know.

Thanks for the tip. I will try your suggestions later tonight.
It is baffling that the iBook works perfectly and the new machine not. I thought that maybe there was a problem with using iPodRip to transfer my music onto the Mac Mini; however I did use the same program to transfer my music to my iBook when I installed a new and larger HD and everything worked perfectly.
