Set Creation Date from Capture Date

Now I know NOT to use ISO-9660 as a CD format for the transfer of digital camera images from one Mac to another... That format doesn't seem to save the file creation date and time info. of the original file. Even a disc made by my brother on his Windows PC exhibits the same result... How annoying!

So, I'm looking for a script or utility that can set the FINDER file creation date to be the same date and time as the "capture date" that seems to still be present in the digital still camera JPEG files.

The AVI files I have seem to have no "capture date" meta data embedded anywhere in them so I'm out of luck for those.

I can see the image "capture date" when I index the folder of images in a program such as iView Media Pro... I can use freeware tools to manually set the file creation date... But for all the images involved, that'll take HOURS!

How about some sort of UNIX script or something that can do this or a drag and drop little tool or Applescript or even a way to do it with Automator?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Wink "A Better Finder Attributes" - program

Has anyone tried the "A Better Finder Attributes" application?
It seems a little pricey ... €29.95.
