Hey all,

I was switching ISPs yesterday and while setting up my new Mail account (Mac Mail) I erased the old ISP mail profile and with it went all my mail from the in/ sent and trash. I was totally surprised as the two logically (in my mind anyway) wouldn't be connected.

Is there any way of retrieving this old mail?

I almost did what you did a couple of times but fortunately there is a warning asking you if you want to really do this... I assume that if you post you haven't backed up your mail file.

Not sure how to retrieve but to preserve you need to keep the account and make it inactive.

No backup??

It might be retrievable but you have to stop using the machine immediately and get it in for a full recovery.
