iMac 17" G4 1.2 750GB hard drive installation!!

Can anyone verifiy this it does work?
This model does not have the 128G barrier like older Mac's, It also has USB 2.0
I just thought I'd Max it out on 2G Ram, BlueRay DVD writer "Pioneer" and 750G IDE.

Is the 750G an issue or has it been done before.

DVD Blue Ray $1100
750G IDE satgate 7200,16M $450
1G Soimm $150 ,Internal DDR400 Dimm 1G $150

I'd be afraid of frying the machine. They are not the best at thermal management.

I took the plunge to install the 750G but OSX Tiger only sees 699G after formatting... what a waste. 50Gs gone?
The Blueray drive is too bit to fit, basically 1 inch more than a normal pioneer drive, so I installed a DVR-111D but not supported need patch burn...
as for memory, I have 1 stick DDR400 1G internal, 1G DDR2700 Sodimm but get a total of 1.5G, the so dimm is only 512M?? Maybe the limit to the HDD and RAM then... anyone can confirm??

The iMac was quiet but now the fan is always on. Not that it's annoying but kinda got used the whisper quietness before the upgrade.
