Suggested brand for blank DVD's?

Hey Ya'll, I tried a forum search but didn't find anything of note.

I'm looking for suggestions for blank DVD's to use with the iMac SuperDrive (8x DVD+/-R write speed).

I have some Fuji blanks that are rated at 16x, but the superdrive will only write these at a max of 2x (toooo slooooow). I also have some Maxell blanks rated at 4x that actually write at 4x

I'd appreciate any feedback on brands/speeds you've had luck with in the superdrive, especially writing at 4x or 8x.

Thanks!

Bought a 100 pack spindle of Verbatim at Staples a couple of days ago for $29,99, and they work great

For our clients' garden variety discs, we use Verbatim silver inkjet printable CD-R and Maxell white inkjet printable DVD-R for no other reason than availability. Haven't had a complaint in over 200 discs.

For discs that are going to be used for archiving images, we use silver inkjet printable DVD-R's by Taiyo Yuden. More expensive but, by all accounts, a superior product. Tougher to find, as well. We've burned 70-odd with no issues on a MDD w/ a stock Superdrive (Pioneer 105).

I usually use Imation, however one client started having problems on both her internal and external burner, and the only reliable brand that will burn is Verbatim (tried Sony, Maxell and Imation). I have some RCAs that were made by Fuji that I haven't had any problems, strictly for short-term though.

... sworn to Verbatim media since '97. CD, DVD-R and DVD+R dual layer all just work great!

Verbatum. I've also used TDK, Sony, and others with good results.

For very important data, I'll burn two disks made by different manufacturers.

For very, very important data, I'll burn two disks made by different manufacturers and also backup to an external drive.

We've used verbatim, and had no problems. We are currently using Kodak (they were cheaper), and they are working flawlessly as well.

Verbatim DataLife Plus (apparently there are other Verbatim versions; they may be OK but DataLife Plus is all I've ever used), Apple branded, and Tayo Yuden. Zero coasters with those, ever.

I've used the Verbatim DataLife Plus -RWs as well, and they are also fine; some I've been using (rewriting) for 3 years now without a problem.
