ATI RADEON problems

I purchased an ATI radeon from someone here about 3 years back...its an AGP card with 32 megs on it....the thing is acting up now.

Its the one with the fan on it.

on boot the grey screen with the apple is fine, once it goes to desktop mode the screen becomes all garbage. Lines running down and nothing is visible. When I ran disc warrior the card displayed everything fine. Is there something in my Startup that is causing problems?

I yanked the card and put back my old Rage 128 16mg card back in my Sawtooth (running 10.4.7)

am i to assume the vid card is toast? what am I loosing going back to this rage card?

Was reading about similar problems on the Xlr8your mac site. Seems the 10.4.7 update has caused a lot of grief for some Radeon users. Check out their webpage for info if you're curious. I can't offer any advice to correct the problem unfortunately, but to me it sounds like a driver problem. Perhaps an updated driver with the 10.4.7 update?
