just thought I would post this; I recently picked up a new iMac at my local Bestbuy store and I had the pleasure of finding a little flaw in the machine. The DVD drive in the side of the machine seemed to have a problem with DVDs hooking as they were ejected from the computer and getting sucked back in. I returned the iMac and picked up a new one and I noticed a significant difference in the drive. The DVDs flow in and out of the drive now as if a hot knife cutting thru butter. Another note; the original computer had a Matsu****a DVD drive while this new one has a Pioneer DVR-K05. I have a feeling that Apple might have been pressed for parts and changed suppliers to meet demand. Another note made by Lars was to the fact that the drive and the case are not properly aligned. I asked Apple about this fact thru Applecare and they seemed oblivious to the problem. I will be sure to contact Apple in the near future to advise them that I return my original machine. Applecare actually recommended that I send a five day old purchase in for repair; I had to laugh and told "her" that I would return it in the next hour.
Apple was oblivious about the bezel fact and it not being aligned because Apple will never admit to a design flaw - at least not when it comes from a single customer over the phone.
Ignorance.

I'm sure they're not oblivious to it, but they're not going to admit it. It's more likely that it's only within a certain manufacturing date range that the issue occurs, and so sending yours in for "repair" would really just mean them replaicing it with a newer one
Never had this problem however I would like to note that the very first Intel iMacs that came out of the factory were using the drives from Panasonic (Matsu****a). The models that were manufactured about a month or two later are now using the Pioneer drives. Between the two Pioneer makes the better drive.
OP you know what to do, create a web page with pictures on it and wait the others join you. Then Apple will start listening you.
LOL! Yup. That's the tried and true MO. Aint it?
