installing os9

trying to boot from an os9 cd so i can install it on an imac g3, but it won't boot from the cd...there's absolutely nothing on the hard drive either so i can't reboot the system, help please?!

Was the drive formatted using OSX before?This can cause problems when trying to get OS9 on.I'm guessing you are hlding down the "c" key on boot.Try clearing the PRAM and see if that helps?

You should be able to boot from the CD. Have you tried both ways?:

1) hold down the "C" key on boot
2) hold down "option" key, may have to refresh once or twice if CD is not recognized.

That should work.
