I was looking for an explanation of why the 256 MB was only being recognized as 128MB and found this post by CanadaRAM:

I already had a PC133 256MB in my super old G4 so when I saw someone at work selling a 256MB PC133 for a low price I said to myself, I'll take it.

Turns out it's Kingston KVR PC133 256-R, exactly what I had, so I pop it in, boot up the computer and I get only 128MB. Yes, it's a single-sided 256 where as my older one is a double-sided 256MB. I didn't pay a lot for it so I'll keep it anyway. Anyway I'm getting a Mini Duo in about a month or two.
