Increase volume in an MP3 file?

Hello all

I am looking for an app that will let me edit an MP3 file so that I can increase its volume. iTunes gives you control of the playback volume but when you export the file the volume change doesn't go with it.

I assume what I need to do is actually edit the waveform and increase the volume but I cannot seem to locate an app to accomplish this. Any help would be appreciated.

Get Info on the particular song, then go under "Options" and adjust the Volume for just that song.

Audacity is free and will let you do this. You can import the mp3, raise the gain, and export as MP3 again.
