Backing up a Secure Note

I have created a Secure Note and would like to back it up to another drive. Would anyone be able to tell me how to locate it?

thanks

Assuming you only want to back up the secure note and not the entire contents of that particular keychain, one way might be to copy the item to a new keychain and back up the keychain file. To do this in "Panther" (not sure of the procedure in "Tiger"), select the secure note in "Keychain Access.app" and "File" > "Copy" (⌘C) it, create a new keychain using "File" > "New Keychain" (⌥⌘N) - making note of the name of the keychain and the password, then paste (⌘V) the item into the new keychain. The new keychain file should be created in your user's "~/Library/Keychains" folder and can be backed up. To retrieve it at a later date, use "Window" > "Keychain List" (⌥⌘L), click the "Add" button, and navigate to the keychain file.

Thanks for the info. I already have a keychain backed up in my user directory. I thought that there is a way to save the note alone somewhere else. I guess I can always copy the information to a text editor and encrypt the file.

I always put sensitive info in writable disk image that's encrypted. I used disc utility to make it.

I agree with you Paul. I too have PGP software and all my personal files are on that volume.
