about Screen in ipod 3rd gen shows Windows

Hi:
I have a B&W G3 boosted to a 466 G4 with Tiger 10.4.4 and itunes 6.01. I just bought a 3re gen ipod from a windows user and thought I did a format of my ipod to mac. Because the ipod was erased befor it was sold to me and I never told the seller that I was a mac user, I expected that itunes would ask me to format or erase the ipod but it didi not. It automatically began to copy my music onto the ipod. When it was finished I installed the latedt ipod (mac)upgrade from jan 2006 available from apple's site. The ipod worked perfectly and all music was transferred. Only later when I did a tour of the menus and found the ABOUT menu, it showed that my system is formatted for windows. Should I go back and erase what's on the ipod but I dont know where to find on ituned the menu to format and then recopy all my itunes stuff. It shows version 2.3 and format Windows. The back of the 15 gig 3rd gen clickwheeel shows the logo Apple and not HP as some ipods were sold as
Ted

You can leave it alone and it won't do anything. iTunes can read/write on iPods formatted on windows, but PCs cannot read an iPod formatted on a Mac. I'd just leave it until something screws up.

If you want it reformatted for Mac, use the iPod Software Updater's Restore option. That'll wipe and reformat it.

The only visible difference will be the iPod's volume name, which in Windows format appears in all caps instead of upper- and lowercase.

I agree with Strimkind! If nothing is wrong, there is nothing to fix!
