How do I scan or send a desktop image?

I'm having problems with a program called ImageBrowser which comes with Canon cameras. I have contacted Canon and received a reply that has not fixed the problem. Is there a way to capture the desktop image so I can e-mail it to them? I tried to paste but it will not light up when I have the program open

Apple (or Command) + Shift + 3.
Enjoy.

You can also use : Apple + Shift + 4 to select a zone.
Or Apple + Shift + 4, then press Space to select an app.

It should end up on your desktop.

steadfast - When you take a screenshot it will appear on your desktop with the name: Picture x.png if you are using Tiger. If you are using Panther it will be Picture x.pdf where x is the picture number, starting with 1 -> Picture 1.png

What happened to the nice 'camera shutter' sound when you take a picture. I don't get it with 10.3.9, is it back with Tiger?
