Hi -
2006 is going to be the year when I move to Tiger as my primary OS and I would like to go to Apple mail at the same time.
I'm currently configuring mail and trying it out - my email client for many years has been MS OE. I have it configured so that mail messages stay on the server until I delete them manually in OE. OE then deletes the approriate ones on the server automatically next time I connect to the server.
In the various windows of OE, I have one column that tells me if each message is saved on the server or not and I can use that to selectively dlete any or all messages on the mail server - spam I delete right away, others only after I'm sure I don't need to access this message using my ISP's webmail feature.
I'm trying to set this up in Apple Mail.
I can set it up to leave messages on the server and then delete them based on certain criteria, ie either after a certain period of time or if I move the message out of the inbox, but I can't find a way to show in my mailbox (inbox etc.) which messages are still on the server and which ones are not.
I expected that there would be an option for that under "View", but there isn't.
Do I need to enable something else in Mail so that I can then select the view option to indicate which messages are still on the server?
Mail help is no help in that case.
