Escape Key Strange Happenings

Yello!

For some reason my esc key is acting like my F9 key and it's driving me insane. I'm using Tiger on an iMac G5. I can't figure out how to reprogram the esc key to actually escape me out of what I was doing.

Any ideas?

To force quit a program?
Is that what you mean?

Command-Option-Escape will give you a "force quit" pop up menu to quit a program.

Well that's strange, It shouldn't do that, To my knowledge I haven't seen that.
All I can suggest is to check all the preferences.

Perhaps Apple discussions has an answer if no one else on here can suggest something.

I could suggest repairing permissions, But I'm not sure if it will fix it, It looks like it's a preference.
