Question Videocamming problem Mac to PC

I have an iMacG5 with the latest iChat and have an AOl/AIM name and my son has a relatively new PC. He and I have been able to connect no problem with video cam up until his move to the latest that France Telecom has to offer it's customers(he lives in France). Now we get the same error over and over that says I have refused his invitation when in fact I had clicked accept. I am trying to figure out what the problem might be. I have my Mac going through a router as I have a small network set up in the house and I have checked it's configuration and all seems to be OK. I have also gone in to open up additional ports, thinking that that may have been the problem but no.
Is it likely that the problem is at his end??
I have my office PC laptop that I brought home and I loaded in MSN Messenger 7.5 and my son had the same loaded at his end and we were able to connect with video camming.
I really want to get the Mac to PC working again. What advice can you offer me?

Thanks....Peter

What do you mean by 'his move to the latest that France Telecom has to offer...' ?

Sounds like that was the change that started all the problems?

Was the move to MSN Messenger 7.5 also done at the same time?
It may simply be a protocol issue -

why not use the latest AIM client instead of MSN messenger?

It would seem like the problem may be with his new service. However, I use iChat quite a bit to videocam with a few PC friends.. it really seems hit and miss.

There are a couple of sites you can check to make sure things are configured properly:

http://www.mvldesign.com/video_conference_tutorial.html
http://www.kolabora.com/howto/how_to...rewall_and.htm

If you don't find an answer in one of those sites.. I'm afraid I can't offer any more assistance.. other than, his new service may be blocking the ports required for video transfer. He may have to call his ISP.

hey
you mentioned ichat on your end with aim/aol name and msn 7.5 on his end.
that would deffinitely create an issue.

now, have you gotten your mac to work with anyone else? perhaps try your mac with your office laptop which will probably sitting right next to you.

when you had it working with him before, was he using msn 7.5? or was he using yahoo msngr?
check that..also if you can get your mac to work with your office laptop, the problem may be at his end and he may have to speak with his isp to open up some ports.
check it out and let us know

The msn messenger 7.5 was a completely separate excercise. Me with my PC laptop from work with that loaded and he with the same progarm loaded and it worked. We both had our respective AOL programs off. By the way I am running the latest AIM software as is my son.
The Mac does work with my sister who is using a PC- both of us connecting with the latest AOL/AIM. Also I can connect the same way with my brother on the west coast.

I figure that it has to be my son's setup in France- I don't know the details of his enhanced setup- I think that it is their version of a high speed DSL connection.

Onbe of the possible siggestions has been a possible router problem but I have certainly checked into that at this end. My son has phoned France Telecom but is not really getting much help.
