Unhappy Showing HTML elements in an email - not working

Hi,

HTML message display under Mail 2.0.3 (734) / Tiger 10.4.2 is very dissappointing.

Any email I get from eBay or PayPal or NewYork Times or .... does not show the images even though I have "Display remote images in HTML messages" box checked.

Other kinds of HTML email, where the images are sent as attachments look fine.

This situation applies to both my Macs at home and work, so corporate firewall issues are not the cause.

Has anyone got the HTML emails from eBay, PayPal etc to work in ANY MAIL READER in Tiger!?!

-----------------------EDIT
So everyone who uses a Mac is suffering through this??!! I can't believe it...
On the left and right is the same email as seen from
(left) Outlook
(right) Apple Mail 2.0.3 on Tiger

I can't do any better than *this*???!!!

Don't know how to fix it, but when I load the images on ebay emails they show up as expected in Tiger Mail.

I don't have any "load images" option on my eBay emails - nothing is showing as attached...

I don't know how to fix this, but the images in emails like the one from ebay are never attached. They just link to the ebay web server. (to keep the size of the message down)

Yes, if you look in my attached thumbnail above thats exactly how I see this - i.e. no attachments in Apple's mail or Outlook.
Which is why I was very confused by khummsein's reply about loading images.

So everyone who gets ebay/google alerts can see the images in Apple's Mail?

Images turned off?

In Mail preferences, under Viewing, is there a check beside "Display remote images in HTML messages"?

Mail -> Preferences -> Viewing

I just found something... it must be my exchange server or the settings I have with my exchange account - the google alerts @ home show the HTML while the same one does not show here at work.
OK, well at least I know its Microsoft's fault ;-)
