i wanna replace my keyboard cause a few of the keys are getting to the point where i have to smash them down to work. yes i've tried cleaning it, yes i've made sure the cable is connected properly, etc etc
so i was wondering if someone could help me find out which keyboards are compatible with the g4 ibook series (14 inch).
Why don't you order a keyboard replacement with cable connector...around $129.00USD I believe? You can get a keyboard protector from iskin...I have one right now and it works great...protects against finger prints, oil and accidental spills....(which I lost a powerbook to awhile back ....
For a built in keyboard, you'll need a keyboard for 14" iBook G4 (can be had for relatively cheap on eBay). I'm not sure if the 14" G3 keyboard would work, but you wouldn't want to use one anyway; they are not as nice to type on as the G4. The G4 keyboard is opaque white whereas the G3s were more transparent.

You aren't under AppleCare still are you? Because Apple will *definitely* replace the entire keyboard if it has failed the way you describe it based on normal use. Repeatedly.

Ouch.
Do you happen to have a good friend with the same computer/keyboard, and still under warranty? Not that I would suggest anything fraudulent or untoward of course.
