Final Cut Studio 5 installation screw-up

I've been bad, and now I'm paying for it.

Tempted to try out the much talked about software on my new Mini, I downloaded a torrent of Final Cut Studio 5 and ran it with some serial numbers I found on LimeWire, which worked. I only wanted to use Final Cut Pro and LiveType, so I unchecked DVD Studio Pro and Soundtrack Pro before the install. During the install, it said I required installation discs for DVD Studio Pro 4.0, LiveType Media 1 and LiveType Media 2. I didn't have these discs but foolishly clicked "OK" anyway. The install stopped at about a quarter of the way in, when it prompted me to put the DVD Studio Pro disc in before continuing. I didn't have that disc, so the install was cancelled.

I've tried using Spotlight and Find to round up all the files I just installed in order to delete them, but sorting through all those files by name is really difficult and I don't want to delete anything that would corrupt my system.

I just want to know, at this point, will the other programs (Final Cut Pro, LiveType, Compressor, Qmaster) all work fine? They all seem to open up just fine. I just want to know if I can leave my computer this way or is there something I can do to round up all the files and delete them before they really mess up my computer?

Hmmm.... not sure if they will. But having just spent $1500 on Final Cut Studio I do know that with the discs the software installs and runs beautifully.

I'm with Roland on this one.

I can be sure the Livetype will not work unless you found a way to get the data DVDs, the actualy program itself does not have the files to create much. I know compressor is very touchy with the insall, so a good chance that will not work. I did a copy install from an old machine to my new one and compressor would not work. I had to start from the beginning and reinstall the OS and FCP studio.

Backup - Wipe the drive and restore.....

Lesson learned.
