Contact sheets of images

Hi all,

Looking for a utlity to print out contact sheets of some 150-160 stock image CDs, each with at least 100 images on them, for the studio to keep as reference.

PhotoShop offers contact sheet creation, but I'd like to complete this process in *MY* lifetime ;-)

I would have thought GraphicConverter would have offered this, alas it seems to only have the option to print single images per page. Am I missing something in the preferences somewhere? It certainly isn't in the print dialogue box.

Thanks in advance.

Iphoto does it pretty easily. A more professional method, and the one I use is iView MediaPro.

Hi andreww, thanks for your reply. We probably only need the iView Media $49 version, not the full blown package. It says it can go contact sheets, hoping it is somewhat customizable. Looking into it. Thanks.

Take a look at the Catalog option at the bottom of the File menu in Graphic Converter. It seems to be their version of a Contact Sheet.

Photoshop Elements 3 does a nice job of building Contact Sheets too.

Graphic Converter is amazing for this. Lots of options to choose from in catalogs and you can print them directly to PDF, we use it for this all the time. You can also do "batches" with it, so if you setup a batch you can probably just swap out photo cd's and it will run quite happily until finished.

Thanks Chipper, I am so brain dead from a week of holiday I didn't stumble into the Catalog option. I have printed a sample and we are all happy [dancing]. Can I go back on holidays now? No?! Shucks.

Thanks mguertin for suggesting the batch feature, I am sure that will come in quite handy, having about 160 CDs to work with. I just don't have the available brain power to delve into that right now ;-)

No problem, MacAndy. Glad I could point you in the right direction. We all need a gentle nudge now and then. That's one of the nice things about ehMac.ca, eh?

Happy cataloguing!
