Garage Sale!
Hope you don't mind me asking but what did you pay for it? What Processor speed is it?
As for the Disk. Apple locks down the OS disks that ship with their systems so they only work with that system. You'll need to BUY Tiger to install it onto your garage sale find.
I believe you can order a new set of keys from Apple. I think you'll have to call and speak to a rep.
Actually, you could try using Target Disk Mode on your existing iBook (assuming you still have it) and install it on the PowerBook that way. The iBook OS X CDs look for an iBook on boot--it is not hard drive specific. The problem is, you will have to get your hands an a 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable if you don't already have one.
In moosemac's defence, his line "the prossesor is the same one there offring right now" could be referring to the fact that his PB has a G4 processor and not necessarily that it's the latest processor speed (1.5 Ghz or whatever it is right now). That being said, I would hope that my Rev A 12" PB, even if all "beat up", would still be worth more than what would be sold at a typical garage sale ...

Sounds fishy, the minimum we are talking here is a 867 Aluminum Powerbook G4. No matter what condition it is in it would easily be worth about $900 if working. Pretty pricy item for a garage sale!
You should check out the serial number with Apple.. and local resellers. If this is a stolen book, you could likely get in a lot of trouble for having it. Honestly, give them a call.. you may just make someone's day
Likely a nice reward too, if it's as recent as you say.
I just can't comment on something like this if it was purchased cheap at a "Garage Sale." It just seems a little too fishy for me.
