Wireless question

Have
G4 400 sawtooth. It has an internal spot for a wireless card but will any non apple card fit or only an original apple airport card. Will the newer faster kind fit. What are my options for that specific card slot. I do not want to put anything in my PCI slot.

This is not a fixed solution just for research. I will stick to copper as a permanent solution.

thanks

Airport extreme will not work, only the original airport 802.11b cards will work. There are no other fake cards that will fit in the airport slot. There are howerever many PCI and usb options.

Found a 'Faster' solution. a ethernet bridge. Provides an ethernet connection to a wireless point. So, from my mac's 10/100 ethernet port through a standard cable to a wireless box which connects to the wireless network.

This is far better than the USB version I hear.

Thanks for the help.
