Keynote Questions

I recently received an email from a relative with questions regarding a faulty keynotes app. Things aren't saving and many other things seem to be wrong. The poor guy sent me this email begging for my help but since I don't have any of the problems myself I didn't know what to do. Here are the questions... any help would be greatly appreciated!

1. There seem to be glitches (or else I don't understand how to use it) in the text underline colour changing feature. This is a minor nuisance and not the main problem. When you select a colour, it almost always doesn't change.
2. Keynote won't save. This has been happening for me since the first time I used it for a school project. It will say there's an error and to quit and reopen Keynote. The document will still appear on the desktop, however, but it says it can't be opened when you try.
3. It won't export to PowerPoint. this is probably the biggest problem. Documents will export to QuickTime, but usually not PowerPoint. This is a new problem. When I export test presentations to see if it will work (these aren't related to the project), it will export. But when I try to export my actual documents, the exporting progress bar is a) dimmed and b) goes by very quickly, leaving no exported file. PowerPoint files can be imported. If I can't get the program to at least export files, I will have a very difficult time trying to complete this project and I may not be able to finish it. It is worth a very large percentage of my course mark and I can't get it all done in class tomorrow.
I have loaded some of the Keynote copies of the project onto the Jumpdrive (the ones I can't open) to take to school. they are set to open in PowerPoint but I don't know if they will. I also have an Appleworks copy, set to open in Word, of what I did tonight on the Jumpdrive (copy and paste at school). Finishing the project in Appleworks and pasting it into the presentation on my own time at school may be difficult.

Thanks for an replies and I'll be sure to forward them on to my helpless cousin!

I'm really unsure as to what could be wrong, but you may want to try deleting the com.apple.iWork.keynote.plist file found in the Preferences folder within the user's Library folder.
