FCP Print to video not working

I'm working on a project right now in FCP 4.5 (HD) and having some trouble with outputting it along firewire. When I hook up my camcorder, it displays the current frame, but as soon as I try playing on the timeline, it holds on that one frame until I stop, and then it stays on that last frame. Never, however, does it actually play through. I've tried two different Sony's, a Canon, and a Panasonic camcorder, all with the same problem. When I try to Print to Video, I get nothing but a black screen on them, although it shows fine on my main display.

Now, the project that I'm working on is 24P, so I am wondering if that has anything to do with it, as FCP wouldn't be applying the pulldown on the fly? I tried the same project on my powerbook, and the same problem occurred, so I'm thinking it that the frame rate may have something to do with it. A 29.97 project seem to output fine. I was forced to make the file into a self-contained movie, and play it on Quicktime on the powerbook and send it out along the S-video. Obviously, I don't want to do that again. Anyone else working in 24P? Any solution out there?

I would try your question at http://www.kenstone.net/cgi/discussions/general.cgi, you should get some answers. This is a pretty sophisticated question.
