Lars - the stater of the obvious ... sometimes I think you just do that to pad your post count and I think he's talking about the widget that states the processor load, not the two together.
First Konfabulator's CPU widget is buggy, a better CPU monitor is from Menumeters.
As for Tiger and Adobe CS try running the program under a new user, you may see a big difference. If you just installed Tiger (which I'm sure you have), did you fix your permissions before hand? You have have amplified an existing problem by installing Tiger. Run Cocktail (new revision for Tiger) to fix these issues.
