I use an IMAP server at work and use a series of mailboxes to which I file various emails (as I'm sure many others do). However, in Tiger, I cannot access these mailboxes - only the inbox, sent mail, etc. In the Mail preferences/accounts/advanced panel, there is an IMAP Path prefix On OS 10.3 this was /users/accountname/mail However, in Tiger the first backslash is not tolerated so the entry is users/accountname/mail

Mail doesn't seem to be able to see the mailboxes on the server because of this. Any ideas? My account on the server has the subdirectory "mail" and all is well under 10.3.

If create new mailboxes in mail, they do not appear on the server, only locally. Not much use for backup or portability.

Anyone else seen this/have a solution?

I heard a friend tell about a mail problem with imap. He solved it by deleting the Mail prefrence in User/Library/Prefrences. Its a good place to start anyway.

Found the solution!!!! Instead of /users/username/mail it works if you put in just: mail
